Meet the Trainer

My name is Marissa Leaser, and I have been professionally training dogs for six years. Throughout my life, I have been an animal lover, caring for dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, horses, and small animals. I have always had a soft spot in my heart for dogs. Growing up with them around, I loved how intelligent they are. My feelings about them were solidified once I got Maverick; he is my inspiration for everything I stand for.

My journey into dog training began when I started working for a company that offered training services, and I quickly fell in love with the field. Each day brought new experiences and adventures, not just for the clients but for me as well. This ignited my desire to learn more and more about dog training. It was during my time fostering and training rescue dogs that I discovered my true calling: helping both pets and their owners.

I soon realized that many behavioral issues stem from a lack of physical and mental enrichment, often due to pet parents working 40-hour-plus weeks at their jobs, plus their personal lives. Most of my pet parents are juggling child activities that they were also attending. This realization motivated me to put my focus on helping busy pet owners take some of the load off pet ownership.  Just as it takes a village to raise a child, I believe the same holds for dogs. That's why I created The Balanced Bark Training—to make dog ownership enjoyable and easier. I want to help more people appreciate the incredible experience of having a dog and easily incorporate them into their busy lives.
